In this economy: Importance of Supplemental Income

In this withering economy, the value of finding other forms of income becomes even more important than it was before. There are a variety of good ways to make money via the internet. The first thing you should do, if you have not already, is to sign up for a free Pay Pal account. Most of the following ways to make money pay via Pay Pal. 1. Blogging - You can make good income by writing blog posts about other sites. Including a link to the site that you are writing about is part of the reason for writing, as they want the backlink and the potential traffic. Your site should not be only about reviewing/writing about other sites, as you will likely not have many visitors, which is a part of the value of your paid blog posting. 2. Graphics - If you have good Photoshop abilities, then there is a good market for you. Selling the images that you create for specific clients is an excellent way to make extra money. 3. Adsense Revenue Sharing - By being an active member of a potentially wide range of sites, you can earn everywhere from a few pennies to several dollars per day. It depends on your activity level, the amount of visitors to the site, and how much of a percentage that is shared with you. These sites include forums, video and photo sharing, article sites, and many more. You just need to pick the sites that you think you would most like to participate in. 4. Affiliate Programs - There are a huge amount of affiliate programs out there. Some are available through the specific business/website, while others are included in comprehensive programs through such places as Commission Junction, LinkShare, and ClickBank. You can earn a substantial amount of money, due to high commission rates. The challenge is that there is a lot of competition. The importance is finding and establishing a niche, and dominate it. 5. Google Knol, Squidoo, Hubpages - All three of these sites include revenue sharing in one sense or another. Also, for each, you write your own pages about the topic of your choice. Knol is very similar to Wikipedia and includes 100% Adsense revenue sharing. Another is Squidoo, which shares revenue based upon overall Adsense revenue for everyone and your own commissions from affiliate links. It is an excellent way to generate a steady income. Hubpages shares 10% of their Adsense revenue. It is very similar to Squidoo, in terms of design. My advice:
The best I can say is that you should start out with the free ways to generate income. All of the above are free, however hosting your own website for affiliate links or to show off your graphics work will usually require a monthly fee on a webhost. Sites such as Squidoo and Hubpages allow for you to experiment with what works, then you can invest the time and money into an actual website. Also, you should have patience as you build your network of ways to supplement your income. It often takes a few weeks to a few months to begin seeing a steady stream of revenue. All require a bit of effort to write the blog posts, create the graphics, or develop the web pages. Now, go out and earn some extra income! |

You discussed some good stuff that's straight forward. The advice I also find to be true. ∅ TIME ∅ is of the essence, time and dedication.

Very, very true. It does take time and patience to build the network of revenue streams. I say "network" because you can often network your steams together, but also because it can become fairly complex.
Good advice, I write on Squidoo, Associated Content, Open Salon, and of course Qondio, plus my own blogs. Depending on the topic you write about and the amount of traffic, pennies a day on Adsense alone can turn into $10 or more a day, plus Affiliate sales, and if you have your own successful web site you can also sell advertising space. As Sophia said though, time is of the essence, and dedication too. Worthwhile earnings rarely come overnight, but the more you write and get known, the bigger your following and exposure, and once the ball gets rolling, it's up to you to find the best way to monetize it. I am still working on perfecting the last bit...
